Nozzle Technology

Basic principles


Although the requirements of each spray nozzle may vary considerably
from one application to another, the basic functions of a nozzles are:

  1. Control of Liquid flow
  2. Atomization of liquid into droplets
  3. Dispersal of droplets in a specific pattern
  4. Generation of hydraulic momentum or impact

General Purpose Nozzles
NOZZLE CHARACTERISTICS APPLICATION
Flat Spray Nozzle

Produces a flat fan shaped pattern with tapering edges Requites overlapping so as to  produce an even distribution in multiple  nozzle system

Degreasing, Foam Control, Industrial Washer, Spray coating Water misting, Metal Cleaning-Rinsing -Washing

Straight Stream Nozzle

Produces high velocity straight jet induces the surrounding liquid into the jet stream.

Agitation, Mixing of Liquids, Cataphoresis Plants, Straight Stream Needle-Type Spray

Hollow Cone Nozzle

Uniform distribution, Fine atomization, using direct pressure alone. Nominal spray Angles of 40, 60 or 80 deg at moderate pressure. Finer atomization with increase in pressure.

Aerating Water, Brine Spray, Evaporative Condensation, Evaporative Coolers, Industrial Washers, Spray Coating, Spray Ponds, Gas Scrubbing and washing, Gas Cooling, Cooling Towers, Humidification

Solid

Precision, low capacity nozzle in a solid cone shape pattern. Uniform distribution of finely atomized droplets. Pressure increase affect spray angle.

Aerating Water, Humidification, Cooling Towers, Gas Scrubbing & washing, Brine Spray, Evaporative, Condensation, Industrial Washers, Evaporative Coolers, Spray Ponds, Spray Coating, Gas cooling.

Air Atomizing

Two Swirl-Air nozzle versions are available : the right angle nozzle (atomizing air enters the side, the liquid enters axially in back): and the inline nozzle (concentric piping is used with the liquid in the center and atomizing air around the outside).

Chemical processing, continuous casting, cooling castings and moulds, curing concrete products, evaporative coolers, foam control, incineration , quenching, spray coating, flue gas desulfurisation.

Cleaning in Place

Relatively uniform distribution at all pressure, available in a range of flow capacities and produces a full spray pattern from a multiple orifice body, with 360" spherical cover for tanks up to 3 mtrs in a diameter.

Various types of fixed and rotating spray heads are specified in this section and are designed to suit a wide range of applications and installations.

Delta Fit

Produces a uniform, flat spray pattern with soft tapered edges to allow overlapping for even distribution. Impact is generally greater with narrower spray angles assuming equal flow rates.

Delta-Fit is a unique system of quick fitting nozzles of various spray types which allows connection to pipework without the use of spanners.
